On August 5, 2026, during its flagship “Agents Week” event, Cloudflare officially open-sourced Cloudflare OS—a self-hostable, zero-trust AI agent workspace released under the permissive Apache-2.0 license. Originally engineered as an internal productivity engine deployed across thousands of Cloudflare employees since May 2026, Cloudflare OS provides developers, technical leaders, and privacy-conscious organizations with a browser-based environment where autonomous AI agents can construct custom micro-applications, automate complex multi-system workflows, generate dynamic live-data documents, and interact securely with internal databases.
