Today, May 31, 2026, marks the official launch of NaClCON 2026 (pronounced “Salt Con”). At first glance, this three-day, community-driven event resembles a relaxed coastal getaway, but its true mission is highly academic and deeply technical. NaClCON is dedicated entirely to the concept of “hacker archaeology”—the systematic study, preservation, and analysis of early digital underground exploits, legacy protocols, and cultural shifts that laid the foundations for modern information security.
